Ukrainian HoReCa market research

In 2023, the HoReCa segment faced a 12.9% decrease in the number of catering establishments compared to 2021, while the population of Ukraine over the same period decreased by 24%. The market is seeing a struggle among catering establishments for a potential client and the displacement of competitors due to a number of innovations.

According to the results of a survey of restaurateurs in Ukraine, it was noted that the greatest losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion were suffered by catering establishments operating in the middle price segment. Thus, establishments that target consumers with low incomes below average are actively developing due to the increased demand for fast and cheap food (for example: shawarma), and luxury establishments - due to the already collected target audience, regular guests.
