Analysis of the vegetarian products market showed that the more developed plant-based milk market in 2022 experienced a 42% drop from pre-war volumes. The main factor was a decrease in consumption due to the migration of the target audience. In its turn, the plant-based meat market demonstrates stable growth, primarily due to the development of domestic production.
According to the survey results, the largest audience of plant-based meat and milk consumers are flexitarians. The main motive for buying plant-based substitutes for animal products is to diversify their diet, 50% of respondents noted that they were prompted to try plant-based meat by the desire to try something new.
The respondents noted that the most popular plant-based products were plant-based sweets and snacks (vegan chocolate, halva, fruit bars), plant-based milk and yoghurts.
