The conducted research is aimed at determining the state of gender balance in the energy sector of Ukraine in the context of war. The main objective of the research is to assess the current situation with gender equality, the impact of war on women from the energy sector, their development opportunities and achievements in difficult living conditions in the country.
A separate focus of the research is to study the situation with the employment of internally displaced women, barriers in finding a job, including low wages, and the offer of positions that do not correspond to the specialty.
But even in such conditions, it is important to remember that gender equality is an essential aspect of social progress, affecting various sectors that form the basis of the development of the state. In this context, the energy sector plays a key role in stimulating economic growth and sustainability. That is why this project attempts to study the complex dynamics of gender equality in the energy sector of Ukraine in the context of war in order to highlight the existing development landscape, challenges and potential opportunities for women. For the purposes of this study, we consider the energy sector as a set of enterprises operating in the production, distribution and transmission of electricity, including renewable energy sources, supply of goods used in energy, service enterprises and organizations in the field of consulting, education and legal support for energy companies. This approach allows us to expand our views on the employment prospects of women in the energy sector.
