Chief of market analysis division of Pro-Consulting spoke at the Retail Innovation Forum 2013


2s.jpgForum is the central platform, which assembles top managers of IT companies and heads of IT departments as well as managers of retail companies, trade and retail networks and leaders of the technology industry. The Retail Innovation Forum was hold by Business summit company. The consulting partner of event is Pro-Consulting.


During the Forum, the leading developers and suppliers of information technology have presented the innovative products devised in order to solve practical issues and business challenges, increase profitability and quality of customer service. Representatives of retail companies, in their turn, had the opportunity to learn and estimate the innovations, and develop strategic solutions for the successful development of business.

The first section of the Forum was opened by Seraphima Rusinovich, which talked about the trends, structure, problems and prospects of the retail market in Ukraine.

"Over the past three years there has been significant growth of domestic retail market. In 2010-2011 average annual growth rate of retail sales and trade enterprises amounted to about 23%. At the end of 2012 - 19% and 17%. For first 4 months of 2013 there has been continued growth in trade volumes by 14% and 12%,"- she said.

Pro-Consulting expert also gave information about the ranking of the most popular groups of products:

"Our company’s analysts often have orders for market researches of the retail market as a whole and its individual sectors. For example, according to our latest research, the most popular food products, in addition to tobacco, are confectionary, which occupy 7.9% of sales, vodka and other alcoholic products with a share of 6.6%, meat and meat industry products with shares 6, 1% and 5.7% respectively. The top 10 the most popular non-food items, in addition to fuel, includes auto and pharmaceuticals products, construction materials with a share of 5.7% and household appliances with a share of 4.5%."

"However, one of the negative trends of Ukrainian trade is the dominance of imported products in the total retail volume. Thus, in the period from 2008, the share of imported food products increased from 11.8% to 13.7%. In non-food items sector the share of domestic products had dominated at the market until 2010, but in 2012 it was less than 42%. Thus, presented innovative solutions for business development and enhance the competitiveness of companies are very beneficial for Ukrainian retail industry", - said Chief of the market analysis division of the Analytical department, Pro-Consulting Seraphima Rusinovich.
